Crashing Objects

NAUGHTY NAUGHTY NAUGHTY KITTY!!!! This morning I woke up to the sound of crashing objects. I of course sat straight up and looked at my desk where Lucy is usually knocking stuff off. She wasn't there. I raised my gaze. Peering over the edge of a very high shelf attached to my wall were two little ears and two little green eyes. That was the 1st time I had seen Lucy up there!!! There are not many objects left on that shelf because of her standing on her hind paws, reaching up, and pulling stuff off. Now she's jumping up onto it, and knocked off a glass ornament I had up there!!!! NAUGHTY!! Fortunately the ornament is really thick blown glass, so it didn't break. I'm worried about my Phantom of the Opera music box snow globe though. It sits on that shelf, and I fear greatly for its life. Perhaps having it sit on the floor would be a better location!

The picture above is of Lucy when I got home from work yesterday.

Surprise in the lamp

Saturday night I was downstairs with Lucy. All of a sudden I saw this... Lucy just sat and sat and sat staring up into the lamp. Anyway, I took pictures documenting the complete story of what all happened. There is a caption with each picture. Enjoy!

"Lamp...."

"There's something up in there."

"I think I will take a closer look"

"Hmmmm...."

"BOXELDER BUG IN THE LAMP!!! One of my favorite snacks!! You can't see it in this picture because it is in my mouth making its way to my stomach"

THE END... (time for a bath)

Just Watching

Last night I made a rice krispy cake for one of my coworkers for her birthday today. One of Lucy's favorite foods is butter. She will jump up onto the counter in the kitchen, and sit... just sit underneath the cupboard with the butter in it. Now, as people may know, when you make rice krispies, there's lots of butter involved. You have butter in the rice krispies, butter in the pans used, and then i needed butter on my hands to shape the rice krispies into their stacked cake form.
Anyway, I had just allowed Lucy to lick out my empty tuna can when I made my lunch for the next day. She love, love, LOVES tuna!!! I told her "You just got Tuna! You better behave yourself and leave my rice krispies and butter alone!!!!". I had the empty butter greased pans that I had just used sitting on the kitchen table. I went into the laundry room and when I came out, this is what I saw. Lucy wasn't standing on the table, she was simply resting on it with her back feet still resting in the chair. The pans were on the opposite side of the table, but still, she was trying to be a little sneak. She does that often when I'm eating. She'll start out sitting in the chair, then her chin is resting on the table. Then she has one paw resting by her chin. Then the other paw is by her chin. Then she slides her stomach further onto the table, staying as low as she can. Eventually one back paw will makes its way up - that's when I yell at her. Anyway, I was able to get a picture of it last night :) **Notice her back feet resting on the chair**

Rub a dub dub Kitty in the tub

I was getting ready for dance this afternoon and Lucy was whining to be fed, of course. She was causing a ruckus in the bathroom, knocked my cell phone onto the floor amongst other things b/c I was ignoring her. Then I have no idea why, but for no reason I looked up and this is what I saw.
She had jumped into the bathtub and just sat there. Moments later Carisa called me and we were talking. I didn't even notice the kitten weaving in and out of my legs meowing a storm up. Carisa then said, "Is that Lucy????" She could most definitely hear her thru my phone. Story of my life.

Just Watching

Late last night after I finished up with my homework and everything, I got an opportunity to work on my Jasmine costume some more. I almost feel like Cinderella never being able to find time to work on it b/c I'm always so busy with everything else, such as school. UGH! :)
Anyway, I was letting the glue dry on some of the rhinestones I had just put on, and was working on fixing my earrings, when all of a sudden a little head popped up in the chair next to me. She just sat there and watched. It was really random. Usually she jumps up into a chair at the table when there's food, but this time it was just to sit there. It was really cute, so I took a picture :)!

Tornado

I took this picture this weekend. Cat-zilla strikes again. My dad called me into the living room and said, "looks like a windstorm swept through mom's snow village, and I know it wasn't the puppies." Yup - definitely looks like a tornado went thru in the middle of winter. Check out the 4 downed trees!

Goodnight Puke

So after I posted that video last night, and after a very long day, it was FINALLY time to sleep! YAY! I put Lucy in my room and got a few more things done around the house. When I got into my room she was curled up as she usually is in the middle of my bed - well, either curled up, or walking around getting into something she shouldn't. I was just about to crawl into bed and I saw a pile of puke, compliments of Lucy, on my big pink throw blanket by my pillow. Lucy then stood up and walked over and sat by it as if implying, "a present for you." UGH!!! Lucy is not a puker. It only happens ever once in a while, but of course..... Thank you Lucy!

Brat Cat!

I found a video where "cat-zilla" is very much on purpose trying to knock over stuff in my mom's Halloween village (my mom had just taken a bunch of stuff down, so there's only one house up, but that doesn't stop Lucy). You later also see her bratty whiney-ness when she wants food, even after she just ate. Then after I give her a few pieces, she is purring up a storm "i love you, i love you, i love you, feed me more!"

Check it out :)!

Break A Leg

I originally had a video that I wanted to post on here tonight, but the quality of it didn't turn out well, so I will re-render it tonight, and hopefully post it either tomorrow, or later this week.

In that case I will tell a quick story. Typically Lucy wakes up anywhere between 4am-6am. Her waking up includes me waking up because she wants to eat. Remember, we have the entire universe, and it all revolves around Lucy. She is usually destructive in some manner to conveniently disrupt my slumber so that I am able to "release" her from my bedroom and allow her access to her food dish. Her destructive behavior consists of anything and everything from tearing paper, knocking things onto the floor, meowing loudly, batting at a picture hanging on the wall so that is swings back and forth making noise, knocking over lamps and picture frames, meowing loudly, walking on top of me, batting at my window blinds so they bang against the window and make noise, digging in bags and boxes she shouldn't, standing on her hind legs to reach shelves and knock over everything on them within reach.... you name it, she has done it!

Well, one morning this summer I woke up to a particularly loud crashing noise... louder than normal. Whatever the item was she had knocked to the floor, it hit the heater located around the perimeter base of my room. I was too tired to care at the time, so I let her out of my room, and went back to bed. I had a feeling that I knew what she had hit to the ground, and I had a feeling that it had broken, but again I was too tired to care.

Later when I did finally get up, I examined the damage, and sure enough Lucy had knocked to the ground my favorite ballerina music box. It was a ballerina about 8 inches tall and when wound up played a ballet song (I can't remember which song exactly right now). Well, my favorite ballerina music box is now missing both of her arms, her arms are missing hands, her hands are missing fingers, and she herself has detached from her music box. Of all the things Lucy has ruined of mine, that is one of the only things I still am really bummed about. It was a Christmas gift from a friend when I was in high school. Nasty, nasty cat!!!

Speaking of whom, she is currently staring out at me from between books on a bookshelf. Big pupils... she's up to no good! Well, I best be getting both her and I to bed before it gets to late. Lucy plays the usual game of running away and hiding right when it is time for bed. And the chase is on.....

"I'll miss you too"

This morning Lucy slept in till around 6:15am which was a nice change from the usual 5am wakeup! After my mom fed her, she put her back in my room around 7am. Lucy curled up with me on my bed purring loudly, happy to have a full tummy, and fell straight to sleep. When I left for work this morning, this is the sight I saw. I think she was sad to see me go!

Flying Nuns

Two days ago I was standing at the stove popping some popcorn. It was around 4:00pm. 5pm is when Lucy's official dinnertime is, but she likes to start announcing that it's time to eat around 2pm. It's a wonderful 3 hours full of destruction and protest until there is food in her bowl.
Anyway, she was throwing her usual fit, meowing up a storm. Of course, as usual, I was ignoring her. I heard the usual clatter of items being knocked off shelves from the living room in protest. Then, there was silence. Suddenly I heard a loud knock on the floor and looked to my left. In the doorway of the dining room, I saw a small ceramic trio of snow village nuns fly across the doorway, across the wood floor. There was only one culprit behind it, and sure enough when I went into the living room, Lucy was sitting up on the shelf with all of my mom's dept 56 snow village. Cat-zilla I like to call her. She enjoys walking through and knocking down the towns people, trees, and anything else standing. To no surprise what-so-ever, in addition to the nuns, a snowmobiler, a snow man, two trees, and some other innocent ceramic bystander had been knocked to the floor. This time there was a casualty. The snowmobiler's body had detached from his snowmobile, and his head had detached from the rest of his body.

About 20 minutes later I was sitting in the living room eating my newly popped popcorn, and watching a video on my laptop. I still hadn't fed Lucy. As usual, she wasn't going to let me forget that either. Cat-zilla was back at it in the snow village. Everytime she would knock something to the floor she'd quick look up at me to see if I had seen. When I would continue to ignore her, she would walk to the the next closest standing object and knock that to the floor, repeating the quick glance up to see if I had noticed. Once all that had been standing in the snow village was no more, she moved on to the lamp table and proceeded to knock off a picture frame and ceramic coaster. Again, I still ignored. Once she started to move towards the more expensive items, I got up and fed her.

On the way to the laundry room where we keep her food, she announced the entire way how deathly starving she was, and that her stomach was indeed turning inside out. No remorse for the now headless, snowmobile-less man, or for the fallen nuns.

Welcome!

I know many people out there have cats. Some lay around and do nothing. Others are quite active. My kitty Lucy is no exception to the word "active". It is more like, "very naughty on purpose ALL THE TIME" active!
I have been the sane "keeper" of Ms. Lucy Belle for 3.5 years now. I got her when she was 8 weeks old weighing in at only 3lbs. She was in foster care, part of an abandoned litter, with 2 little brothers. I got the opportunity to see her when she was just a baby peanut, barely fitting in my two hands cupped together. I remember holding her like that, and purring, she fell asleep.
Well, when she was old enough to be brought into the humane society, she was already on reserve for me. I was able to go in right away and bring her home. It has been an adventure ever since!!

This blog is going to be nothing more than accounts of "naughty lucy" stories. Some may be from the past, others may be from earlier in the day. You never know!!!
